Animoca Brands adds another $65 million to its $2 billion valuation

Blockchain and mobile gaming platform Animoca Brands has raised $65 million at a net valuation of $2.2 billion.

Investors in the firm’s latest round have included Liberty City Ventures, Ubisoft Entertainment, Sequoia China, Dragonfly Capital, Com2uS, Summer Capital, and more. Animoca Brands plans to use its investments to fund strategic mergers and acquisitions, popular intellectual property licensing, and further product development.

After the “meme round” which collected $88,888,888 in May 2021, the company made another tour in July, where it collected $ 50 million. With these two events, Animoca Brands’ total investment from this year’s funding rounds has exceeded $200 million.

The future has already come

Yat Siu, co-founder and chairman of the board of Animoca Brands, said in a statement:

In addition to its own blockchain games such as Animoca Brands, Revv Racing, The Sandbox and MotoGP Ignition also invested Blowfish Studios has also invested in various non-game entertainment avenues such as Quidd, GAMEE, nWay and Lympo.

Joseph Chee, founder and chairman of Summer Capital, one of the investor companies, commented on their investment in the company and the vision of Animoca Brands:

Animoca Brands has been frequently mentioned in the NFT and blockchain world lately. In September 2021, the rapid exit of ARC8, a blockchain application, delighted the company investors. In addition, the developer, who wanted to accelerate his work in the NFT game industry, opened applications for “Launchpad Luna” in partnership with Brinc in July 2021.
